Red Sox player Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a home run into the upper deck at Coors Field in Colorado on August 27, and, in the process, established a new team record for longest home run in the Statcast era, which dates back to 2015. With Boston up 1-0 over Colorado in the second inning, Bradley Jr. hit a 478-foot home run that jumped off his bat at a 30-degree launch angle and a speed of 112.1 miles per hour.

The previous record for longest home run by a Red Sox player was held by Hanley Ramirez, who hit one that went 469 feet at Fenway Park in 2017. Moreover, the 478-foot home run by Bradley Jr. was the sixth-longest hit among all MLB players this season. Through 119 games this season, the former first round pick of the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft had 17 home runs, 51 RBI, and a .222 batting average.
